what the coverage counts do and do not include. Please carry it through into any
reuse.
Source of truth
These files are build artefacts. The authoritative records are the YAML files in the public repository, where every change has a commit, an author and a date.
Schema notes
-
Every candidate record carries
status(current) andhistory(every prior status with its own dated source). Readhistoryif you need to know when something changed. -
contestis a district slug whenchamberisassembly, and a region slug when it iscouncil. -
Source objects always carry
url,publisherandaccessed;title,publishedandarchive_urlappear when known. -
coalitions.jsonaffects presentation only. Liberal and Nationals remain separate registered parties inparties.json, separate policy records inpolicies.json, and separate rows inpolicies.csv. -
Dates are ISO
YYYY-MM-DD. Slugs are stable identifiers — names are for display. -
representationandcouncil-membersdescribe the current parliament (2022–2026), including mid-term replacements and party changes. They are neither a 2022 election result nor a 2026 candidate count — a sitting member is not a candidate until there is a source saying so.
